Pool service for owners who don't live next to their pool.
Owners of rentals, vacation homes, and short-term rentals need the pool ready for every guest or tenant, and they're usually hundreds of miles away. Spur finds homes with a pool owned by someone who lives elsewhere, mails them at their own address, and offers a plan built for remote owners: photo reports, guest-ready checks, and one invoice.

The problem
Rental pool owners need reliable service, and they're hard to reach.
For short-term rentals, a cloudy pool or a broken heater can mean a refund and a one-star review. Owners can't check it themselves.
Without photos or reports, an owner 300 miles away has no way to know whether the pool was actually serviced.

AI draft for Gary L. · 2190 Saratoga Ave
Hi Gary,
You own the home on Saratoga Avenue, and we're guessing you're not in Lake Havasu every week to check the pool and spa.
We work with many out-of-town owners. Weekly service includes chemicals, brushing, skimming, and a filter check, and you get photos of the pool and the equipment after every visit. If you rent the home, we'll do a guest-ready check before each booking: water, heater, spa temperature, and gates.
Everything is billed on one monthly invoice. Scan the code to see pricing for remote owners.

How to reach rental and vacation home pool owners
In resort, lake, and Sun Belt markets, a large share of pools belong to people who don't live next to them. Vacation-home owners, long-term landlords, and short-term rental hosts all need reliable pool service, and they often need it more than owner-occupants, because nobody is there to notice a problem. But they're hard to reach with local marketing, because they live somewhere else.
Property tax records solve that. Every parcel lists the owner's mailing address, and when that address is in another city or state, the owner is absentee. Filter for homes with a pool and an out-of-area mailing address, and you have a list of exactly these owners. Spur mails them at that address, so the card reaches the person who actually makes the decision.
Many rentals are owned by LLCs. Spur adds the names of the people behind many of them, so the card can be addressed to a person instead of a company name. Hosts with several properties are especially valuable; one relationship can add several stops to a route.
Build the offer around what a remote owner fears. They can't see the pool, so send photos after every visit. Short-term rental hosts worry about a guest arriving to a green pool or a cold spa, so offer guest-ready checks timed to bookings. Landlords want one invoice and no surprises. Say all of that plainly on the card.
Be careful about liability topics. Rental pools come with safety expectations, including gates, barriers, and drain covers, and many local codes cover them. A short note that you check gates and safety equipment as part of service is helpful. Don't present yourself as a code inspector unless you are one.
Time a second card before your peak rental season. Owners plan for summer bookings in spring, and a reminder then catches the ones who meant to set up service last year and didn't.
One host with several pools can fill a route day.
- Spur Team: $588/yr, plus 400 cards on Team at $0.94 each = $376
- 3 rental pools × $175/mo × 12 = $6,300, plus ~$3,600 in guest-ready checks
- Year one total cost: $964

FAQ
Rental and vacation pool questions
How do I find vacation homes and rentals with pools?
Filter for homes with a pool where the owner's mailing address on the tax record is outside the area. Include LLC owners, which are often rental hosts.
Why not just leave door hangers at rental homes?
The owner doesn't live there. A door hanger reaches a guest or tenant. Mailing the owner's address reaches the person who decides.
What do short-term rental hosts want from a pool company?
Reliability they can see: photos after each visit, guest-ready checks before bookings, quick fixes for heaters and spas, and one predictable invoice.
Can Spur find the people behind LLC-owned rentals?
Often, yes. Spur adds names behind many LLC owners so the card can be addressed to a person.
