Owners who got a quote often wanted to buy, just not yet. After one follow-up call, most companies never contact them again.
Window play · Past estimates and customers
Your stalled window estimates and half-finished houses are your best leads.
Every window company has a drawer full of estimates that never signed and customers who replaced the front windows and meant to do the back. Spur turns that history into cards that name the quote or job, removes owners who moved, and alerts you when someone scans, so last year's maybe becomes this year's install.

The problem
Window companies spend heavily on new leads and ignore the ones they already measured.
Customers who did the front windows meant to do the rest. Without a reminder, the second phase goes to whoever mails them next.
You already have measurements, window counts, and prices. Nobody turns that into a reason to reach out.

Hi Nora,
We replaced the eight windows on the front of your house in 2024, and at the time we also quoted the nine on the back and sides. If you've been meaning to finish the house, we'd like to make that easy.
We'll hold last year's price on those nine windows through the end of March, and since we already have your measurements, we can order right away and install in a single day.
Scan the code to see your saved quote, or call and we'll pull up your file.

How to win window projects from estimates and past customers
Window companies spend a lot to get in front of a homeowner: mail, ads, lead fees, and hours of a sales rep's time measuring and presenting. When an estimate doesn't close, most of that investment is written off after a call or two. But many of those owners still want new windows. They were waiting for a bonus, the end of winter, or a second opinion, and the company that reaches them when they're ready wins the job.
Start by grouping your history. Stalled estimates from the last 6 to 24 months are the largest group. Phased customers, who replaced some windows and meant to do the rest, are the warmest. Past customers whose windows are done may still need patio or entry doors, and a warranty check-in a few years after install is a reason to visit.
Remove anyone who sold the home. Spur checks recorded sales and drops those addresses, so you don't mail a quote to someone who moved. The new owner at that address is a different prospect, with a different card.
Name the quote or the job. "We quoted 14 windows for your home in April" is specific and reminds the owner that you already did the work of measuring. Pair it with one clear reason to act, such as honoring last year's price for a limited time, or a faster install because measurements are on file. Avoid inventing urgency; owners can tell.
Time it to the season. Stalled estimates convert best when the owner is feeling the problem again, so mail just ahead of heating or cooling season. Phased customers often respond in the new year, when budgets reset.
Track what comes back. Over a year, you'll see which groups sign and at what cost, and you can tune timing and offers. For many companies, this is the cheapest source of signed projects they have.
Measured homes are the cheapest projects you'll ever sign.
- Spur Team: $588/yr, plus 400 cards on Team at $0.94 each = $376
- 3 stalled estimates signed (~$30,000) + 2 second phases (~$12,000) ≈ $42,000
- Year one total cost: $964

FAQ
Past estimate and customer questions
How should I follow up on a window estimate that didn't close?
Mail a card that names the estimate and window count, gives one real reason to act now, and includes a QR code to the saved quote. Time it ahead of heating or cooling season.
How long after an estimate is it worth following up?
Estimates from the last 6 to 24 months are worth mailing. Many owners who didn't sign the first time were waiting, not saying no.
Can I upload estimates from my CRM?
Yes. Export estimates and past jobs as a CSV and upload it. Spur removes current customers and homes that have sold.
What should I offer past window customers?
The windows they didn't do yet, patio or entry doors, and a warranty check-in a few years after install.
