Concrete and paving campaigns timed to the thaw, the pour season, and the fall seal.

Flatwork follows the weather. Spur lets you set a card for each window, a winter reservation, a spring pour, and a fall sealcoat, mails each ahead of the season, and re-mails scanners so your calendar fills first.

Flatwork peaks fast, and most marketing arrives when the calendar is full.

Late in the season

By the time competitors advertise in April, the best pour weeks are already booked.

A single piece can't cover winter reservations, spring pours, and fall sealcoating.

Estimates expire silently

An owner who got a winter estimate forgets by spring unless someone reminds them.

AI draft for Mark D. · 2617 Tremont Rd

Hi Mark,

Pour crews in Columbus book up by April, and prices rise with demand. If your driveway is cracked or heaving, now is the time to plan.

A free estimate includes demolition, forming, and haul-away. A small deposit holds your price and your week.

How to time flatwork marketing to the weather

Concrete and asphalt work are ruled by temperature. In cold climates, pours stop when the ground freezes and resume in spring, so the calendar compresses into a few busy months. In hot climates, summer heat slows work, and the busy season runs through winter. Either way, owners decide before the crews can start.

Each window has its own message. Winter says 'reserve your week and hold your price'. Spring says 'last openings'. Summer says 'patios and walks for outdoor season'. Fall says 'seal or fill before winter', which sells asphalt maintenance and crack repair before freeze-thaw damage.

Be honest about scarcity. Crews really do book up, and a card that says 'we have four pour weeks left in May' is true and motivating. Do not invent scarcity, which owners can spot.

Use maintenance work as ballast. Sealcoating and crack filling can be done in shoulder seasons, keep crews busy between pours, and give you a reason to talk to owners who will eventually need replacement.

Plan capacity before the cards go out. Marketing that fills a calendar you cannot staff creates delays, which become bad reviews. Align campaign size with crews, forms, and material supply.

10×+return on a year of Spur Team from seasonal campaigns

Four seasonal waves keep crews busy all year.

  • Spur Team: $49/mo billed annually = $588/yr
  • 2,000 cards across four windows at $0.94 each = $1,880
  • 5 flatwork jobs (~$6,000 each) plus sealcoats ≈ $32,000

Seasonal concrete marketing questions

When should I market concrete and paving work?

Six to eight weeks before each window: winter for spring pours, late summer for fall sealing.

Should I mail the same owners every season?

Not every card. Mail new prospects in each wave and re-mail scanners with a gentle reminder in the next one.

Can Spur schedule the whole year?

Yes. Set the dates once and Spur mails each wave automatically every year.

What about warm-climate markets?

Shift the calendar. In warm regions, mail in fall for winter pours and in spring for pre-summer jobs.
