After a repair or replacement, most roofers never contact the homeowner again. When the next storm hits, they call whoever shows up.
Roofing play · Maintenance plans
Roof maintenance plan marketing that turns one-time jobs into recurring revenue.
Most roofers see a customer once every 20 years. A maintenance plan changes that: two inspections a year, gutters cleared, small repairs caught early, and you're the first call after every storm. Spur finds the past customers and nearby homeowners most likely to join, writes the offer for each, and keeps renewals on schedule.

The problem
Roofing is the one trade where customers forget you for decades.
Clogged gutters, cracked pipe boots, and loose flashing cause most leaks. Nobody looks until there's a stain on the ceiling.
Without recurring work, every slow month is a cash-flow problem and every storm is a staffing scramble.
How it works
From list to mailbox in one workflow.

How to sell roof maintenance plans
Maintenance plans are common in HVAC and pest control and rare in roofing, which is exactly why they're an opportunity. Most roofers see a customer once for a replacement and never again. A plan turns that one relationship into recurring revenue, keeps you on the roof twice a year to catch problems early, and makes you the obvious first call after a storm and when the roof finally needs replacing.
The rationale is easy to explain. The National Roofing Contractors Association recommends inspecting roofs twice a year, typically in spring and fall, and after major storms. Most leaks start with small, cheap problems: clogged gutters backing water under the drip edge, cracked pipe boots, lifted shingles, and worn sealant around flashing. A plan that finds those early saves the homeowner money and protects the interior.
Start with your own customers. Recent replacement customers are ideal: their roof is new, they trust you, and a plan helps them protect the investment and keep records that may matter for warranty or insurance questions later. Repair customers are next, since they already know their roof has weak spots. Then add look-alike homes on the same streets, with similar build years and values.
Keep the offer simple. Say what members get (two inspections with photos, gutter clearing, minor sealing included, a repair discount, and priority after storms), what it costs per month, and how to cancel. Time the mail before spring and fall, when homeowners are thinking about the season ahead.
Then protect the base. Mail a renewal card 30 days before each plan expires that recaps what you found and fixed that year. Members who see the value renew. Track sign-ups and renewals by campaign so you know which message grows the plan.
A plan also changes the replacement conversation. When the roof finally reaches the end of its life, a member has years of photos showing how it aged, trusts the person who took them, and rarely shops the job to three other roofers.
Forty members is recurring revenue every year.
- Spur Team: $588/yr, plus 1,200 plan-offer postcards at $0.94 = $1,128
- 40 members × $228/yr = $9,120 in recurring revenue, before repairs and replacements
- First-year plan revenue alone = 16× your subscription, and it renews

FAQ
Roof maintenance plan questions
What should a roof maintenance plan include?
Usually a spring and fall inspection with photos, gutter clearing, minor sealing and fastener work, a repair discount, and priority scheduling after storms. State the monthly price and how to cancel on every mailer.
Who should roofers offer maintenance plans to?
Recent replacement customers first, then repair customers, then look-alike homes on the same streets. All three groups have a clear reason to want regular checks.
How much should a roof maintenance plan cost?
Price it to cover two visits, gutter clearing, and minor materials with a margin. Many roofers land between $15 and $30 a month. Test two price points by mail and compare sign-ups.
Can I mail my past customers with Spur?
Yes. Upload a CSV from your CRM or a spreadsheet. Leave current members out of the upload, then search the same streets for look-alike homes.
How do I keep roof plan members from cancelling?
Remind them what they got. A renewal card 30 days before expiry that recaps the inspections, photos, and fixes keeps the value visible. Spur can schedule it for every member.
