Electrical seasonal campaigns that land before the storms, not after.

Electrical demand follows the weather: lightning and surges in summer, outages in storm and ice season, heating loads in winter. Spur lets you schedule a campaign for each season, sent to the homes where that season causes problems, so homeowners hear from you before they need an emergency call.

Electricians market after the season hits, when every competitor is too.

Mail lands after the storm

By the time a storm knocks out power or a surge fries an AC board, homeowners call whoever answers. The ones who'd have planned ahead never heard from you.

One season's offer for everyone

A generator card goes to condos with no yard, and a surge card goes to homes that already have one. The offer doesn't fit half the list.

Seasonal mail depends on memory

Someone has to remember to plan, design, and send each campaign. In a busy spring, the summer campaign never goes out.

AI draft for Luis O. · 1418 Lumsden Trace Cir

BRANDON GETS MORE LIGHTNING THAN ALMOST ANYWHERE.

Hi Luis, the Tampa Bay area sees some of the most lightning in the country, and storm season starts in June. Your home on Lumsden Trace was built in 1997, long before the electrical code began requiring whole-home surge protection on new services in 2020.

A surge protector at the panel helps protect your air conditioner, refrigerator, and electronics from lightning-induced and grid surges. Most installs take about two hours, and we'll check your grounding while we're there.

How to plan a year of seasonal electrical campaigns

Most residential electrical demand isn't random. It follows the weather and the calendar. Summer brings thunderstorms, lightning, and the heaviest air conditioning loads of the year. Hurricane season and winter ice storms bring outages and generator demand. Winter brings space heaters, holiday lighting, and the peak months for home heating fires. Spring is when homeowners plan outdoor projects. An electrician who mails ahead of each shift reaches homeowners while they can still plan, instead of competing for emergency calls.

Give each season its own campaign. In spring, mail homes with larger lots for outdoor outlets, landscape lighting, and hot tub circuits. Before summer storms, mail older homes for whole-home surge protection: the 2020 National Electrical Code added a surge protection requirement for new and replaced dwelling services, so most existing homes don't have one. Before hurricane or ice season, mail storm-exposed zips and higher-value homes for standby generators. Before winter, mail pre-1990 homes for a safety check that covers the panel, GFCIs, and smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.

Timing is the whole point. Mail six to eight weeks before the season, so cards arrive while there's still time to schedule. A generator campaign that lands after the first big outage is too late: the homeowner already called someone, or every installer has a waiting list. A surge campaign in May beats one in August.

Keep each card to one offer. Name the season, the local risk, and the home's age: "Brandon gets more lightning than almost anywhere" works because it's true and local. Avoid fear language. Homeowners respond to a clear, practical reason to act now, not to warnings.

Automate the calendar. The hardest part of seasonal marketing is remembering to do it. Set each campaign once with its list, copy, and send date, and let it run every year. Review results after each season and adjust the list or offer for next year.

20×return on a year of Spur Team from one $12,000 standby generator

One generator install pays for the whole seasonal calendar.

  • Spur Team: $49/mo billed annually = $588/yr
  • 4 campaigns × 600 homes = 2,400 postcards at $0.94 = $2,256
  • Twelve $450 surge installs, two $12,000 generators, and ten $79 safety checks = $30,190, about 10× the mail and software combined

Seasonal electrical marketing questions

When should electricians send seasonal marketing?

Six to eight weeks before each season: spring outdoor work in late winter, surge protection before summer storms, generators before hurricane or ice season, and safety checks before winter.

Is whole-home surge protection a good thing to market?

Yes. The 2020 electrical code requires it on new and replaced dwelling services, so most older homes don't have one, and the install is quick. Mail it before your region's storm season.

How do I market generators before storm season?

Target storm-exposed zips and higher-value owner-occupied homes, and mail well before the season starts. Name the local storm history factually and offer a free sizing visit.

What electrical services sell best in winter?

Home safety checks with smoke and CO alarm testing, panel inspections, and dedicated circuits for space heaters or heated floors. Holiday lighting circuits are another fall offer in some markets.

Can Spur send seasonal campaigns automatically every year?

Yes. Set each campaign's list, copy, and send date once. Automations print and mail it on schedule, and you can adjust the list or offer between seasons.
