By the time a card arrives in mid-November, many owners have booked someone else or the leaves have turned to wet clumps.
Gutter play · Seasonal campaigns
Gutter campaigns that book the fall rush in September, not November.
Gutter demand comes in waves, and the owners who book first get the best dates. Spur schedules a card for each wave, fall leaf drop, spring seed and pollen, and pre-freeze ice dam prevention, mails it weeks ahead, and alerts you as owners scan.

The problem
Gutter marketing happens when the leaves are already falling.
A single fall flyer ignores spring pollen and winter ice, the other two peaks where owners also need help.
Early frost or a late leaf drop changes when owners care. A fixed date can't follow it; a scheduled program can adjust.
How it works
From list to mailbox in one workflow.
Five steps from a scramble every October to a calendar that fills itself.

AI draft for Dave L. · 4219 Lyndale Ave S
Hi Dave,
You scanned one of our cards last fall, so I wanted to reach out before the calendar fills. The maples along Lyndale usually drop between late September and mid-October, and in this neighborhood the gutters are packed by the first frost.
Packed gutters are what cause ice dams, because meltwater backs up under the shingles when it can't drain. We clean the whole house, flush every downspout, and send you photos, so you're clear before the first deep freeze.
Scan the code to pick a date. Fall dates fill fast, so early is better.

How to plan a gutter marketing calendar
Gutter work follows the trees and the weather, and the strongest marketing follows both. There are three predictable waves each year, and each one has a different trigger and a different message.
The first wave is fall leaf drop, and it is the biggest. Owners begin to think about gutters when leaves start to turn, and most of the best booking dates are gone within two weeks of the first frost. A card that arrives three to four weeks before the typical drop gets the first call.
The second wave is spring. After winter, gutters carry debris, seed pods, and pollen, and owners notice overflow in the first heavy rain. A spring card is also the right moment to mention guard installs, repairs, and fascia damage the winter exposed.
In cold climates, there's a third wave: pre-freeze ice dam prevention. Ice dams form when meltwater backs up behind frozen gutter edges, and clear gutters are part of avoiding them, along with insulation and ventilation. A card in late fall that explains this plainly is useful and builds your reputation as the company that knows why, not just how.
Set the calendar once. Spur keeps each list current, writes each wave's card, and mails on the dates you choose every year. Since weather moves the real dates by a week or two, mail early rather than late: an owner who books ahead is happy, while an owner who books after the rush is frustrated.
Watch the weather and your own calendar together. A warm autumn pushes leaf drop later, and an early freeze pulls it forward, so keep a few days of flexibility in your mail dates and use the first week of scans as a signal. If scans are strong, add crew capacity early; if they're weak, mail a reminder to the owners who haven't scanned yet.
One booked season covers Spur many times over.
- Spur Team: $49/mo billed annually = $588/yr
- 1,500 cards on Team at $0.94 each = $1,410 across three campaigns
- 90 cleanings (~$230) + 8 guard installs (~$2,600) + 4 repairs (~$800) ≈ $44,700

FAQ
Seasonal gutter marketing questions
When is the best time to market gutter cleaning?
Late summer for fall leaf drop, early spring for seed pods and pollen, and before the first freeze for ice dam prevention.
How far ahead of leaf drop should a card land?
Three to four weeks. That gives owners time to book and gives you the best dates in the calendar.
Do gutters really cause ice dams?
Clogged gutters make the backup worse, but ice dams are mainly caused by heat escaping through the roof, so insulation and ventilation matter too.
Can Spur run the same campaigns every year?
Yes. Set the dates once and Spur refreshes the list, writes each wave's card, and mails automatically.
